Xerox Process Engineer in Wilsonville, Oregon
Xerox has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer to join our Solid Ink Manufacturing Engineering team. This position is located on Xerox’s beautiful Wilsonville campus near Portland, Oregon.
The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the technical and quality aspects of the manufacturing operation, and works as part of a team in a high volume manufacturing environment with a strong emphasis on meeting operational targets.
Provides technical engineering support and troubleshooting for process operations in the Ink Manufacturing facility.
Utilizes SPC to monitor key process and quality indicators.
Employs structured problem solving methods to troubleshoot root cause and address problems.
Takes ownership for issues and implements corrective/preventative action in a timely manner.
Drives continuous improvement activities. Develops and optimizes processes using structured problem solving tools.
Leads and completes engineering projects to improve quality, cost, reliability, and safety.
Supports existing equipment and fixtures. Creates or modifies designs for new initiatives.
Revises and maintains manufacturing documentation. Ensures compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
Interfaces with vendors, contractors, and service providers.
Works cross-functionally across the organization to enable manufacturing success.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Industrial/Manufacturing, or Chemical. Desired GPA 3.5
3-7 years experience in a fast-paced industrial/manufacturing environment. Experience in ISO-certified manufacturing facility a plus.
Excellent mechanical aptitude. Comfortable working hands-on with machinery.
Strong logical and critical thinking skills. Experience with structured problem solving skills such as Six Sigma and Shainin.
Problem-solver with demonstrated capability to bring projects to fruition. Excellent time and project management skills coupled with high level of productivity.
Proficiency in CAD design (e.g., NX, Solidworks, ProE)
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Demonstrated ability to communicate across multiple levels of the organization.
Collaborative individual who works well within a cross-functional team to complete projects.
Demonstrated self-starter with a sense of urgency and dedication. Self-motivated, works well with limited direction. Takes ownership of problems.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is a strong plus: Injection Molding, Packaging, Industrial Automation & Controls, Mechanical Design.
