As a Manufacturing Engineer, the successful candidate will support a wide variety of tasks and functions within the Manufacturing plant that may include the following elements:

  • Develop and maintain process instruction for manufacturing assembly, integration, and test operations

  • Provide technical support for both mechanical and electrical assemblies and subsystems within production printing platforms

  • Support sustainability initiatives by leveraging platform architectures to enable remanufacturing and resource recovery opportunities

  • Drive safety and environmental compliance for plant operations through development of safe job procedures and alignment with ISO 9001 / 14001 standards

  • Perform facilities planning such as facility/station layouts, new product line integration into the plant, and optimization of existing operations.

  • Design and set up manufacturing workstations, taking into account optimal station layout, lighting, tool assignment, parts presentation, and other ergonomic considerations

  • Develop assembly aid/fixture concepts, and work with Tool Makers to create and put into use

  • Provide training and instruction to industrial workforce personnel for completing manufacturing work tasks

  • Provide daily direction to industrial workforce personnel and coordinate production plans with supervisory staff

  • Statistically analyze manufacturing output data and communicate results to Management

  • Interface with Design Engineering to understand product design characteristics and identify areas for improvement/change

  • Assess and disposition component quality defects and communicate findings to Suppliers

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose out-of-spec product and work with industrial workforce to repair defects

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic assembly and test equipment to maintain functionality

  • Apply and incorporate lean manufacturing principles and practices into daily work tasks and deliverables

  • Candidate must be able to function as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with strong emphasis on meeting operational targets and objectives

Essential Functions:

  • Comfortable and willing to interact heavily with Industrial Work Force during entire shift (ie. 1st shift typically starts @ 6:30 AM) to provide guidance, training, assist in troubleshooting, training and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Project management orientation (ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deliverables.

  • Independent work style (minimal supervision) but able to work well in a team environment.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs

  • capable of reading & understanding engineering Drawings & Electrical Schematics. able to use a multi-meter.

  • Must possess operational knowledge of relational database management (i.e. SQL, Access) for data storage retrieval, manipulation, and analysis

  • Familiarity or experience with AutoCAD is preferred

  • Strong analytical & problem solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal skills - ability to independently develop and deliver presentations across various disciplines and levels of management

  • Possess a BS in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering.

  • Must have cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher

  • Solid analytical skills and good sequential thinker

  • Basic knowledge of statistics and accounting desirable
