Xerox Industrial Maintenance Mechanic in Webster, New York

Maintains all site, plant and production equipment including all pipeline systems, pipefitting, plumbing fittings, fixtures, complex mechanical equipment, and apparatus.
Monitors plant and production equipment to maintain safe working conditions on shift. Participates in housekeeping activities as required.
Performs all tasks in accordance with W216 and Xerox Safe Job Procedures.
Industrial Maintenance Mechanics will be expected to work closely with engineers, operators, electricians, and batch leaders in a Teamwork environment as needed to support production.
Industrial Maintenance Mechanics will be expected to perform tasks in other functions, which they are capable of performing
There will be no jurisdictional restrictions between classifications / functions in the EA Toner Plant or between process specialists, engineers, Maintenance Mechanics, Electricians and batch leaders.

Proficiency in the use of following Tools and Equipment:
Bending, threading and cutoff machines; welding, soldering, burning equipment; testing equipment; dies, reamers; miscellaneous hand and power tools; machine tools common to a maintenance shop such as drills, mills, lathes, measuring tools and gages; self-contained breathing apparatus and other safety equipment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Perform pipefitting including lay out, install, inspect, repair, replace, adjust, and maintain (including cleaning and changeover) all pipeline systems, pipefitting, plumbing fittings, fixtures, complex mechanical equipment, and apparatus
Perform machine repair including repair, dissemble /reassemble, replace, clean, install complex mechanical equipment and apparatus.
Perform general welding.
Perform general carpentry and other miscellaneous support tasks as needed.
Maintain maintenance records as required, such as facility/equipment activity logs, spare parts inventory, etc.
Conduct process cleaning/changeover and testing including all unit operations and equipment
Execute preventive and emergency maintenance procedures
Resolve equipment issues with the direction of Plant engineering, batch leaders, and process specialists as required on shift.
Follow all required Safety procedures, including LOTO - ensure that all maintenance personnel comply with plant safety guidelines
Respond to plant emergencies (e.g. major equipment failure, chemical spill, fire, etc) as directed by W216 Engineering & Operations management/Batch Leaders
Participate in all aspects of plant housekeeping
Provide and communicate data, and information pertaining to facilities equipment and maintenance systems to plant management and staff - to include participation in daily meetings
Relieve or fill-in for other shift maintenance or operating personnel in the plant as required
Receive, read, and interpret work orders, instructions, drawings, sketches and blueprints covering the inspection, repair, modification, and installation of work to be done.
Work with Batch Leaders, Process Specialists, other Maintenance personnel, and or Engineering on shift to resolve equipment issues.
Participate in trials, special tests, special maintenance jobs and other activities as required for plant improvement or process development
Four years of State Certified Apprenticeship and two years of Industrial certified experience
Eight years of Industrial certified experience
Two years of a General Technologist Degree (AS/AAS) and four years of Industrial certified experience
Performance on the Machine Repairman and Pipe Fitter Test, including performance on the Mechanic Test will be considered
Knowledge and experience with chemical, mechanical and physical processes and the ability to trouble-shoot process and equipment issues
Able to interpret Process Flow Diagrams and Process System P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Drawings)
Able to use protective equipment, including safety shoes, hard hat, safety glasses, respiratory protection, hearing protection
Able to work at heights and in confined/enclosed spaces
Demonstrated understanding of process control principles and their application to building environment and plant services
Demonstrated ability to identify and repair both mechanical and electrical equipment defects
Computer literacy - knowledgeable/competent in MS applications (Word, Outlook, Access, Excel)
Proven ability to relate well in a people-oriented and Team environment
Demonstrated maturity and stability in a work environment
