Role, Purpose, and Scope

  • Independent contributor with no people management responsibilities;

  • Advisor, helper, facilitator for the Service Delivery community to better understand their business, structure and processes;

  • Support the design and ongoing management of robust financial reporting, analysis and governance processes of commercial aspects for specific contracts (Xerox Managed Print Services Offering);

  • Manages commercial continuous improvement process to ensure we maximize revenue capture and cost control/accuracy;

  • Commercial owner and escalation point for internal business and support functions;

  • Month-end financial close activities;

  • Commercial contract management;

  • Supports his/her manager in delivering their responsibilities and liaises with internal cross functional teams.

Major Responsibilities

To support the Commercial Manager and Service Delivery Manager in the provision of contract reporting and analysis. Including:

  • Monthly performance outlook/forecast review and comparing to Actuals. Analyze variance and work with Service Delivery to raise and track proper actions, or adjust the estimation process;

  • Challenge missing or inaccurate financial and billing data;

  • Interfacing with Finance, to raise commercial batches for P&L accruals and deferrals for revenue and cost recognition purposes;

  • Contract consistency checks against available systems, account management (WBS/Cost Center set-up, closing, update status) and contract related queries;

  • Monitoring and reporting on P&L performance against business case expectations;

  • Build and maintenance of contract repository and tracker on contract relevant details;

  • Own responses to the P&L query process;

  • Propose outlook numbers to manager based on experience, results, input from the account team. Flag any significant unusual items which could affect profitability positively or adversely;

  • Support the Commercial Manager and SDM with review and feedback in new deal/ existing deal change sign-off process and also credit notes sign-off;

  • Review and analyze reports of loss making accounts (otherwise known as ‘Red Sites’) identifying causes, proposing actions and working a recovery plan with the SDM;

  • Developing a commercial action tracker to enable setting ownership and priority on actions;

  • Creating an account knowledge base considering the actions to enable flags for potential opportunities & risks;

  • Ensure processes are documented and up to date, and identify areas to improve key processes;

  • Support one-off projects as required by the business;

Background, skills, experience and qualifications

  • Excellent analytical, numerical and problem solving skills

  • A knowledge of general accounting practice

  • Ability to work on own initiative, quick learner, self-starter

  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel

  • Knowledge of SAP systems (ERP type) preferred

  • Ability to priorities and work to deadlines

  • Good verbal and written communication skills (English business language)

  • Ability to work across a variety of departments and functions to achieve objectives

  • Process Improvement proven skills

  • Basic understanding of end-to-end business processes

  • Previous experience of working in a business environment – preferably in a large company environment

  • Availability for business travels


  • An understanding of financial systems e.g. SAP

  • Basic understanding of business processes

Role specific competencies and requirements

  • Microsoft Tool suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook

  • Xerox specific tool suite such as Mercury/ESAP billing will be provided as part of knowledge transfer

  • Financial modelling preferred

  • Finance experience is a plus
