Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Serves as principal officer with responsibility for Xerox’s Human Resources personnel operations and business oversight of personnel systems

  • Coordinates personnel recruitment to fill open positions including work with a Xerox recruiter

  • Maintains applicant and employee databases and tracks the status of various personnel actions

  • Maintains employee records and is responsible for the control and release/access of the records

  • Carries out recruitment, hiring, new-hire orientation, benefits administration and retention processes

  • Assists employees in researching payroll and benefits coverage issues, moving employee records between supervisors, and maintaining employee rosters, organization charts and reporting structures

  • Implements and acts to ensure compliance with company, state and federal human resources policies and legislation, including investigations of all internal and/or sub-contractor human resources issues

  • Ensures compliance of all CA-MMIS personnel with annual training

  • Interfaces with State, providing all required HR deliverables on a monthly basis

  • All other duties as assigned.


Shall have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management with a focus on Human Resources (HR) Management, or an Associate’s Degree and five (5) or more years of progressively responsible HR experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Additional relevant management experience may substitute for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

Competencies, as demonstrated through experience, training and/or testing, shall minimally include:

  • knowledge of laws and regulations related to HR, including EEO and FMLA;

  • knowledge of recruiting practices, techniques and sources;

  • skill in recruiting, interviewing, hiring and retention;

  • expertise in identifying and addressing complex performance management and other associate relations issues;

  • planning and organization skills;

  • excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
