Xerox Corporation is looking for a talented and dedicated mechanical engineer with a minimum of 5 years of experience to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary product development environment to design cutting edge mechanical hardware used in various printing systems. Xerox Corporation is an industry leader in monochrome and color printing with a product portfolio designed to support the needs of a wide customer base spanning from office equipment to high quality, high productivity systems in the production space. These systems enable high quality output for Xerox Customers by utilizing inkjet, UV, and xerographic marking technologies to print on a variety of paper, specialty media, and 3D objects.
The engineer will be responsible for all stages of product development including architecture selection, design, modeling, prototype testing and optimization, implementation of the production design, and problem support for both manufacturing and the customer. The candidate will regularly interface with software, electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers and integrate internally developed hardware with existing/purchased parts and assemblies as well as partnered designed and developed hardware. The ideal candidate would be able to design at the detailed level, but problem solve at the system level.
Lead engineer responsible for subsystem development and delivery to programs milestones, interfacing directly with program management.
Utilizing internal and external customer requirements; work within a cross-functional team of engineers, designers and technicians to brainstorm, select and implement the concurred upon design.
Utilize CAE tools to complete stress, fluid and kinematic analyses and optimization
Provide diagnostic support for internal and external machines
Develop and execute designed experiments to optimize system performance
Develop and document control requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s Degree Preferred)
5-10 yrs mechanical engineering experience in product delivery environment
Demonstrated ownership and delivery of electromechanical assemblies and/or subsystems
Highly self-motivated, resourceful individual who works well with limited supervision and has good attention to detail
Proven ability to prioritize and balance several deliverables concurrently.
Demonstrated problem solving / decision making ability
Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, molding, forming, etc) a plus
Possess good oral and written communication skills
Travel requirements: <5%
