PURPOSE OF ROLE

SCOPE OF ROLE

Transition Manager will lead the crafting and execution of transition plans for all services proposals typically up to $20 million in expected total contract value including single country and multi-country deals. The role holder is accountable for ensuring that clients defined requirements are met by the transition project deliverables and will lead a team of resources assigned to the transition project as well as managing the relationship with the customer, partner(s), subcontractor(s) and other GDO stakeholders.

Depending on project scale and complexity, Transition Manager may lead several transition projects simultaneously.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
* The key focus of the role holder is to lead transition project team (maybe cross-functional, cross-country, cross-organization, cross-service, involving 3rdparties), to co-ordinate and facilitate the transfer of service ownership from the client or existing service provider to the operational Service Delivery team(s) in country or Shared Services centres
* Act as counterpart to customer appointed transition manager  maintaining close contact to ensure delivery to schedule and issues addressed
* To support, clarify and define transition projects ensuring they are delivered to the required quality, timescale and budget
* Develop and own transition communication plan to ensure consistent understanding of transition progress within key stakeholders
* Manage risk during service transition
* Responsible for successfully implementing new services to GDO country operations, from first identifying the resource requirements, timescales and deliverables, through to planning, deployment and signoff after a period of transition
* Achievement of the above by working closely with the bid/project, 3rd party (where relevant) and service delivery teams throughout the new business lifecycle and owning the service related issues associated with the introduction of the service until the formal point of handover to the Service Delivery team(s)

* Provide a focus for  SLA definition and customer satisfaction . Ensures the information systems and the review structures for SLAs and client satisfaction are established
* Adhere to service implementation and delivery best practice , reviews and processes in line with GDO Service Delivery governance guidance

Senior Managers and their teams have accountabilities across each of three dimensions:
     Geographies
     Tax functions
     Business units
Senior Managers ensure through tax function ownership that common approaches are developed and deployed in all or part of the geographies/business units in the Eastern Hemisphere region.  They may also have accountability for tax affairs within particular business units or geographies

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead tax support of customer operations across Xerox Services ACS Europe units, advising on contract structures, identifying tax opportunities and resolving issues;
* Develop deep knowledge of all Xerox Service Business towers  BPO, ITO, Transportation
* Advise on and implement structures for global contracts, to best meet customer needs while managing tax risks across taxes
* Manage tax aspects of set up in new territories
* Manage tax aspects of M&amp;A activity
* Support bid and tender processes
* Work with customer-facing teams to optimize VAT efficiency of business arrangements
* Identify planning opportunities to support business strategy, maximise P&amp;L efficiency and optimise tax cash flow
* Work with local teams across Eastern Hemisphere to ensure compliance with tax requirements, support tax audits and implement planning initiatives
* Work closely with Indirect Tax compliance group and other tax colleagues to ensure provision of integrated tax compliance and advice to the business
* Develop network of external contacts in area of specialism to enable informal benchmarking and sharing of ideas; keep up to date with technical development and act on opportunities and risks arising
* Provide indirect tax training and guidance

* Extensive experience of working with business groups in a multi-national environment, preferably in service-led businesses
* Knowledge of principles of international direct and indirect tax, particularly as applicable to issues arising in global services contracts
* Qualified Accountant, CTA, lawyer or equivalent with extensive experience operating in multinational companies and/or international tax consulting firms
* Proven ability to determine, own and follow through coherent strategies
* Ability to manage projects, provide advice and take decisions independently 
* Strong working knowledge of principles of international tax and of accounting
* Positive, practical and persuasive approach in dealing with colleagues, customers, tax authorities
* Desire to work across a range of tax functions, geographies and business units

OVERVIEW

MEA is part of the Developing Market Operations (DMO) and operates in Africa and the Middle East. It operates using a two-tier distribution network, which consists of 60-80 customer accounts. Revenue for 2009 was $220m.

The finance department is situated in Slough, with the General Manager and marketing.

Due to the change in roles of the current Credit Controller a replacement is being recruited to commence immediately, working within the finance department.

Position reports to the Customer Admin Supervisor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Manage the Distributor Operations trade receivables, direct and indirect, ensuring collections are within terms and bad debts minimised.
    Process debit and credit notes in accordance with accounting guidelines and the delegated authorities.
    Promptly identify and resolve disputed invoices.
    Process received payments ensuring timely cash allocations
    Prepare substantiated balance sheet reconciliations on those accounts assigned, within 10 working days of the month end, ensuring all un-reconciled items are resolved on a timely basis.
    Ensure all credit reports are accurate and produced on a timely base in accordance with set schedules.
    Work as part of the finance team, providing assistance and cover as required, ensuring as a collective unit the highest possible professional and ethical standards are maintained.

OVERVIEW

Xerox Middle East &amp; Africa operates in 70 countries through independently owned third party organisations.

The HQ is based in Uxbridge supported by field based regional technically support staff.

The OTC Managers operation is based in Uxbridge, reporting into the CFO. The OTC team is responsible for the processing, shipping and credit collection of customers orders.

In order to support the growth of the OTC department a new role of Graduate Management Executive GME has been created, reporting to the OTC Manager.
 
SCOPE

The initial training schedule will take a minimum of twelve months The GME will spend four months in each of the key sections of the OTC department, Order Processing, Order Shipment and Credit Management. These will be supplemented by product, commercial, marketing exposure.

After the initial training has been successfully completed, the GME will then be considered as a candidate to undertake the Xerox Management training programme MAPS.

The GME will be expected to assist the OTC Manager is a variety of adhoc work as well as provide departmental cover during periods of staff absence.

EDUCATION

Applicants to have graduated from university with a degree such as : Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, business Administration, Marketing, Finance or any other technical or business studies.
