· Perform defined benefit administration functions and annual and periodic processing which adhere to established procedures (i.e. PA’s, PARs, Annual Statements, etc.) · Solid experience in completing defined benefit member packages for terminations, retirements, and deaths which include performing pension calculations, creating letters, handling settlements, and authorizations · Perform Quality Review of client-specific work prepared by other team members · Act as a client and member contact for day-to-day processing. Raise any potential issues with Client Service Manager. · Working with the Client Service Manager, ensure work completed by the team is delivered in accordance with the contract and on a timely basis · Quality assured and/or reconcile pension payments · Monitor quality and aging of member cases in the system · Responsible for running standard reports from the Case Management System for review with the Client Service Manager · Updating internal reporting, as required · Maintain checklists, procedures and plan documentation · Produce complex and/or ad hoc reports · Prepare/approve the cyclical deliverables processing calendar · Handle member calls inquiries · Act as a source of expertise to others including assisting colleagues with the application tools and procedures · Create networks outside of one’s own functional area · Act as a role model for less experienced team members regarding service delivery and professional behaviour

Skills and Experience:

· University degree or college diploma with demonstrable mathematical aptitude (actuarial background and understanding of actuarial principles is an asset) · 5 years of defined benefit pension administration experience or equivalent · Experience with both Federally and Provincially regulated plan an asset · Strong working knowledge of defined benefit pension plan administration, policy and applicable multi-provincial and federal government legislation. · Strong working knowledge of Income Tax Act as it applies to defined benefit pension plans · Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; Excel, Access and Word with advanced spreadsheet manipulation skills. · Familiarity with pension administration systems is a strong asset · Strong analytical, mathematical and problem solving skills · Ability to work collaboratively in team environment · Strong interpersonal skills and ability to self-motivate. · Detail-oriented, must be able to work independently, as well as on a team. · Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. · Ability to meet deadlines. · Adaptability and flexibility to work in a changing environment a must · Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. · Client satisfaction focused · Positive attitude and strong team spirit · Professional behaviour and discretion at all times.
