Intermediate level accounting support. This employee will endeavor to utilize business and operational knowledge when analyzing results while delivering on their assigned objectives. During the term of the assignment, this person will demonstrate initiative, a commitment to fulfill assigned actions, a sense of urgency, openness to new ideas, responds positively and productively to change, teamwork and an ability to identify problems, the key factors or contributors and potential solutions without overanalyzing.
This person utilizes their accumulated knowledge and experience in Accounting, while striving to acquire a higher level of knowledge and skills in US GAAP. In this role, the person will accumulate broader knowledge of the organization, the processes and its customers (internally and externally).
Solves a range of straightforward problems; uses previous experience to identify solutions.
Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction, but is expected to work independently
Performs a variety of accounting functions within the Accounting department. May perform one or more of the following duties:
Review and monitor transactions processed in specific sub-ledger systems
Prepares manual journal entries and monitors system-generated journal entries
Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records
Prepares balance sheet reconciliation, i.e. maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts
Prepares monthly reports for internal customers
Assists with audits by providing supporting records and documentation
Supports studies and develops solutions for improving accounting processes
Assists in preparing statistical and financial reports
All other duties as assigned
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or business preferred
Minimum 2 to 7 years of business experience demonstrating US GAAP accounting knowledge
Professional Certifications: Preferred CPA or CMA
Minimum: Knowledge of financial systems - Essbase and Oracle
Minimum: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Preferred: MS Powerpoint and Access desirable
Desire knowledge of an ERP System (Oracle, SAP, etc.); Oracle is preferred
Desire knowledge of Hyperion Essbase or SmartView
Minimum Good communication (written and verbal) and organization skills
Minimum Proven analytical skills with high degree of attention to accuracy and detail
