Xerox Manager, Corporate Communications/Speechwriter in Norwalk, Connecticut

Role Summary:

The Manager, Corporate Communications/Speechwriter supports communications programs that effectively describe and promote the Xerox brand, products, services and corporate initiatives. This position writes, edits, and develops various high-level communications messaging, including materials for the CEO and other executives. This role also supports/delivers corporate-level marketing deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide executive writing support for Xerox’s executive team including blog posts, speeches, op-eds and letters. Brief speakers on audience, venue logistics, tone and delivery style.

  • Provide strategic communications counsel to senior management.

  • Demonstrate robust understanding of the business; translate business needs into strategic communications plans that advance the company’s goals.

  • Provide communications/marketing support for key corporate platforms of innovation and work with subject matter experts and various senior organizational leaders.

  • Support / develop, produce and maintain brand communication materials that represent the corporation, its enterprise-wide offerings and differentiated value propositions.

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience, including leadership of communications-related, cross-functional projects and teams.

  • Strong writing background and proven C-level writing skills. Experience in speechwriting for the CEO of a large organization or top government official.

  • Portfolio of examples that demonstrate breadth of experience and understanding of various communications mediums, including experience in use of social media.

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects through highly effective organizational skills and make sound decisions quickly and efficiently.

  • A high degree of energy and initiative and the ability to drive results across different functions and teams, including outside agencies and consultants.

  • Seasoned, polished professionalism with good judgment and a demonstrated ability to effectively manage communications involving confidential and sensitive topics.

  • Experience supporting business transformations, turnarounds and activist investing situations a plus.
