Position: Senior Business Analyst

Location: Prefer onsite Irvine, CA; may consider remote.

Position Overview:

  • Building upon vendor and customer relationships that exist today with our PPO product and identifying then creating solutions for customer or market problems related to PPO.

  • Developing and executing both business and technical implementation strategies that ensures successful product delivery and support across multiple cross functional teams.

  • Championing and managing the PPO product lifecycle including defining business requirements, conducting gap analyses, developing product design specifications, and collaborating closely with software development and quality assurance teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of product(s).

Essential Duties

Professional Services:

  • Serve as a product expert for the PPO area including PPO partner and customer relationships.

  • Assists in managing the prioritization, requirements and development for the PPO department.

  • Coordinate with Bill Review team and Compliance to be informed and aware of all regulatory and compliance requirements affecting the PPO product area.

  • Confirms and ensures efficient and effective technical integration of PPO products with core application functionality and architecture.

  • Ensures on time product delivery, product quality and product innovation for the PPO area.

  • Leads product design, development, and prioritization for release deployment of the PPO product(s) and assists with maintaining a product development road map.

  • Acts as a point of escalation for assigned PPO issues.

  • Produces business requirement documents which define, justify and prioritize product initiatives.

  • Reviews business requirements, use cases and guidance to BA’s for PPO product implementations/enhancements.

  • Facilitate project team meetings and monitoring of status.

  • Engages with Development and Quality Assurance on an ongoing basis to develop strategies and execution plans for the PPO product.

  • Leads the implementation processes of PPO vendors, client implementations and/or PPO Projects during release cycles and manage/coordinate with QA the overall testing from start to finish.

  • Provides the highest level of customer service to customers, whether these are current or prospective clients of the Company, vendors, staff, business partners or visitors.

  • Manages confidential client, financial and employee information with discretion and good judgment in accordance with department and Company guidelines.

  • Demonstrates a dependable work ethic.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the art practices; participating in professional societies.

  • Ensure tasks performed are consistent with established company priorities. Reports accurate and timely project/task status to management.

Preferred Qualifications:

These specifications are general guidelines based upon the minimum considered essential to perform effectively in this position. The incumbent is required to have:

Development:

  • 5 years PPO product experience in one or more of the following; workers’ compensations bill review, claims management, medical billing, PPO or MCO Networks, general healthcare industry, Medicare, specialty review network, and/’or related software product experience.

  • Ability to incorporate and manage the balance between business, strategic and technical requirements when identifying developing, implementing and delivering new products.

  • Technical expertise including SQL Database, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and 837 transactions.

  • Experience with cross-functional teams that include software development, technical services and client services staff.

General:

  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and strategically when researching, developing and implementing products.

  • Effective oral, written and presentation skills and the ability to develop long-term business relationships.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently and to problem-solve complex technical issues.

  • Ability to function as a team player and to be a self-starter.

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple activities with changing priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to determine how changes impact customers and other systems.

  • Competency to utilize Company software, proficiency in Microsoft software applications and a willingness to learn new systems as necessary.
