POSITION DESCRIPTION: Quality Assurance Manager

Position Overview:

This position offers the right candidate an exciting opportunity to support Quality and processes of our growing business within Xerox Services. This position combines the administrative and daily Quality Assurance tasks, assessments, including inspection of products, reporting, and process assessment. This fast growing, dynamic environment could provide the right candidate with the opportunity to grow his/her career in a number of directions.

This direct-hire full-time position will report to VP Information Tech Management

and will contribute to the management and improvement of the quality system, adhering to ISO9001/CMMI quality guidelines. This position interfaces with all levels of employees in a confident and positive way, and will serve as management representative for any contract requiring QA participation, as assigned.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for activities involving quality assurance in our SDLC following CMMI and ISO9001 guidelines. Ensure that contractual obligations and company mandated standards are adhered. Facilitation and tracking of organizational processes will be required in support of changes made to internal processes and the quality management system. Assess and identify areas of improvement with KPI and SLA used as benchmarks for our successful outcomes.

The owner of this position will:

Develop Project Specific Quality Assurance Plans in accordance with contract requirements

Support and ensure quality duties and responsibilities follow the Quality Assurance Plan

Ensure all contract requirements for software delivery is addressed with Quality Assurance sign-off before customer sell-off

Interview key stakeholders (Internal customer, Functional managers, and senior leaders) to identify gaps related to Quality, cost, and Delivery with quantitative measurements for improvements tied directly to implementations and on-going support (KPI’s and SLA’s)

Verify the QA checklist for each phase is completed and in accordance with the contract and customer expectations

Verify that all final reports required by the contract are completed

Verify that all defects blocking deployment and major defects are resolved

Confirm that agreement has been obtained from the customer that any remaining defects which are not resolved are acceptable for deployment

Participate in test planning and strategy meetings

Participate in the TRR (Test Readiness Review)

Participate in Internal and/or External Kick-off Meeting

Perform periodic checks to ensure CAT (customer Acceptance Test) and Software Delivery are completing key customer deliverables (Jama/Jira, etc. as examples)

Participate in the go/no go decisions

Quality Team makes recommendations – process improvement

Support and execute the PDSI Quality Policy (Quality Management System) and associated processes for delivering products and services that meet or exceed customer requirements through periodic inspection and monitoring throughout the lifecycle

Ensure quality is built in the product or service as it is being realized this is done in the form of process and product assurance auditing

Ensure the finished product conforms to contract and customer requirements through product assurance audits and internal artifact audits

Capture, record and implement best practices for continued QA improvements

Integrate and align the processes that will best achieve the desired results.

Identify the interface of key activities within and between the functions of the organization.

Review and analyze data and customer-facing documentation to ensure high quality products are being produced and to minimize unnecessary rework.

Oversee supplier surveillance activities and participate in supplier surveillance of suppliers.

Participate in advanced quality planning during design, contract, and process reviews.

Provide diagnostic research; analyze data, identify trends, and suggest corrective and preventive actions

Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Interact with all levels of management and with key contacts in and outside own area of expertise.

Develop key content material for proposals, provide content and cost data for proposals, review and comment on select portions of the proposal, as directed.

Perform other duties as identified for Quality initiatives

Requirements for Hire:

Has wide-ranging knowledge and experience base in software development (SDLC), program management, quality assurance, etc.

Is professionally savvy, has business acumen and is viewed as a role model within the organization

BS in engineering and or computer science or related technical discipline

5-8 years of Quality Management experience with continuous improvement and internal auditing experience with ISO9001 and CMMI

A balanced level of experience in systems quality, hardware quality and software quality

Previous experience with ISO9001 and CMMI level 3 implementations with the organization achieving and maintaining certifications

US Citizenship required

A plus would be:

Certified Quality Manager (ASQ), Six Sigma and/or Lean Systems Certification

CMMI Associate certification

Certified ISO 9001 Internal Auditor (ISO 9001:2008 Internal Auditor certification preferred).

Experience in the Transportation industry, and in Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) environments

Supply Chain Quality management

E xperience as Software Development Managers or Project Managers in large organizations
