System Development Director

This Director level position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of a delivery team responsible for developing and supporting products and solutions as part of the Platform Development and System Integration group. The day-to-day responsibilities of this position will include the management of software development and implementation projects and the overall technical direction and leadership for the team. The candidate will also work closely with the Line of Business on priorities and business direction. The successful candidate will have director level experience managing technical teams in support of software development, support and implementation for external clients.

Key Skills Required

  • Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, project, and/or program management

  • 5 years of project and/or program management experience utilizing PMI principles

  • 3 years managing projects and programs with direct responsibility of people

  • Demonstrated success managing software development, testing, and implementation projects

  • Client implementation experience

  • Experience managing annual budgets >$20M

  • Ability to travel (25% of time)

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Strong sense of urgency

  • Experience managing employees in other locations, including offshore

  • Must be currently eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.

  • Must consent to and successfully clear all required pre-employment screenings (background and substance abuse).

Mandatory skills

  • Proven track record of the successful management of a program of projects ranging from external contract software development, internal software development and customer implementations

  • Experience in managing multiple software project deliverables for external clients

  • Experience in managing and implementing complex web based solutions

  • Experience managing support organizations

  • Ability to develop detailed project schedules and costs for capital and non-capital projects

  • Demonstrated ability to manage capital projects of >$2 Million dollars

  • Demonstrated experience in communicating and managing product roadmap deliverables

  • Experience with the design and development of application system architecture, RFP, and customer implementation projects across diverse technology environments

  • Experience managing teams of 30 resources

Preferred skills

  • Exposure to State, Local and Government Solutions

  • Experience in leading or participating technical responses to request for proposals
