About this role

The Product Manager (PM) is the intersection between the customer, the business and technology. They will act as the voice of the customer within the business and must be passionate about the user experience. At the same time they must ensure that the product provides value to the business and should strive to optimise the products to achieve the business goals. In order to define & build a strategy as well as work with the development team on what to build, a high level understanding of the technology is important.

Responsible for the lifecycle of the product:

Planning & Research:

• Analysing the market

• Assessing customer needs (requirement gathering)

• Prioritising

• Defining & communicating product roadmaps

Implementation:

• Creating Release plans

• Managing the development & test teams to deliver releases on time & to scope

• Identifying and Managing risk in the development cycle

• Communicating progress with stakeholders

Roll-Out:

• Launch Communications

• Product collateral

• Training

• Demo’s

• Collecting feedback

The PM must adhere to the established methodologies and standards while carrying out responsibilities. This includes applying project management and development and delivery lifecycle processes to information technology projects and ensuring alignment with IT standards and strategies.

Main Responsibilities

• Research user & customer needs ensuring requirements are gathered and understood

• Analyse the market to understand opportunities & competition

• Prioritise all ideas, features & bugs into road maps and communicate out to stakeholders

• Oversee & manage the releases working with the Software Delivery teams

• Communicate and report on delivery progress

• Prepare launch packs for releases

• Ensure product collateral is developed and distributed

• Ensure training and product demos are available to users

• Work closely with the Sales & Marketing teams on the product go to market strategies

• Collect feedback on product releases and analyse

• Ensure all methodologies and governance processes are followed

• Excellent customer facing skills are essential

• Business Analysis experience (Certification would be beneficial)

• Project Management experience (Certification would be beneficial)

• Experience of Software Development Methodology

• Print Management Industry experience would be beneficial

• Analytical and methodical with good attention to detail

• A passion for technology

• Good written & verbal communication skills

• Strong motivational skills
