Title: Research Scientist: Machine Learning

TheXerox Research Centre Indiais seeking researchers with strong technical expertise in the area of Machine Learning and Data Mining to participate in exciting research and technology development projects. Applicants should have a strong background in the general domain of Machine Learning with deep expertise in one or more oftext & image mining,graph mining& structure analysis, statistical relational learning, and large scale statistical inference.
The successful candidate will lead/participate in cutting edge research and will apply the highest level of technical competence, analytical and problem solving abilities in support of original and creative scientific projects of significant business impact. He/she will maintain an in-depth knowledge of the state-of-the-art in his/her specialty and keep abreast of business trends. While being an independent thinker and contributor, he/she will collaborate effectively with top scientists from across Xerox’s global research labs, as well as with business and development teams, and open innovation partners in leading academic institution. The candidate will create valuable intellectual property, and publish in top tier conferences and journals.

Inaugurated in March 2010 the centre’s mission is to capture innovation opportunities for Xerox in the emerging markets and to advance Xerox’s position as the leading global provider of document and business process services by leveraging the rich talent and technical expertise in India. This centre joins an elite group of four world renowned research labs in the United States, Canada, and Europe that together form the Xerox Innovation Group. Researchers at our centre work on cutting-edge technologies including cloud computing, human computation and business analytics while leveraging Xerox’s established expertise in imaging, document management and ethnography to address locally relevant and globally challenging problems. The ideal candidate for the research scientist position will have
• A PhD (or masters with relevant experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Applied Statistics, or related disciplines with sound technical expertise in one or more of the above mentioned areas
• Demonstrated ability to formulate scientifically challenging problems and develop and implement novel solutions• Strong track record of publications; Excellent written and oral communication skills
